Time to be seeking out new team members: look for athletes in other sports needing fall off-season training such as wrestling, basketball, & swimming. Talk to your track teammates during this outdoor season. You do not have to be a distance runner to be on XC. Sprinters can gain a tremendous of strength and endurance training from this as well.

AND- Encourage the 8th graders on the MS track team to join up! If you all pay attention to them in practices or meets, they will be inclined to feel welcomed and want to join.

Don’t leave all the work to the coaches and captains…. you all have a part of this process to rebuild your own team.
