Running shoes: There are many places in the metro area that you can purchase good, quality shoes. Asics, Nike, Puma, New Balance, Brooks……….
Just remember that very, very cheap shoe prices, usully means poor quality and that = injuries.
I am not pushing the Brooks brand. However if you decide that they have a shoe that you like, we can put an order in for you at 40% off the list price, so long as the shoe isn’t already on sale by the company online. On the right side of the main page there is a list of important links – the sixth link is the Brooks Order Form:
This one is for ordering shoes from Brooks—> Brooks Order
Deadline is July 1 if you want your shoes before the training season begins. The sooner, the better.
You are looking for road racing shoes with good support and pay attention to the way your foot pronates. Don’t be afraid to talk to the older members of the team, they can certainly help you as well.

RUNKEEPER: On Wednesday, you will all soon recieve an email from Asics RunKeeper. It will say RunKeeper password reset. It can possibly go in your spam folder, so check there as well. If you do not get it by 5pm, contact us and we will take care of it.
Everyone on this team uses RunKeeper – no exceptions. This is part of the training program. Failure to record your training all summer will simply mean that you have decided to cut yourself fromt the team.
The 7th (last) link listed on the right side of the home page explains how to get started on the App.

NEW MEMBERS: We will be having a meeting for the new members of the team – tentatively scheduled for Friday, June 19th at 10am at Schmidts Woods. This is the first day after school closes. We want to go over things with you, so that you are completely comfortable with everything. It is a meeting that you should not miss.
Come dressed in running attire and the best pair of sneakers you have; only to learn some basic techniques. This is not a practice; it is a learning session.
